In a recent comprehensive survey conducted by Deloitte, more than 600 chief operating officers in 16 countries had the following to say about outsourcing:

• By a 2-to-1 margin, COO's will continue to outsource.
• More than half report that outsourcing has played a major role in helping their organizations achieve their goals.
• Nearly half of executives say that a significant portion of their firm's outsourcing represents market-facing activities in addition to the more traditional back-office activities.
• Japanese are champions of outsourcing. Sixty percent of Japanese COO's expect to outsource more over the next year.
• Twenty-two percent of German executives anticipate outsourcing less.
